Objective: Transforming growth factor beta/single mothers against decapentaplegic (TGFβ/SMAD) signaling pathway plays important roles in various biological processes. It acts as a tumor suppressor during the early stages of cancer progression. Discovering the regulators of this pathway provides important options for therapeutic strategies. Here, we searched for candidate microRNAs (miRNAs) that potentially target the critical components of the TGFβ signaling pathway.Materials and Methods: In the current experimental study, we first predicted miRNAs that target TGFβ components using a bioinformatics software. After that, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to detect the expression of miR-587, TGFBR2, SMAD4,
Background: Unsafe worker behaviour is often identi ed as a major cause of dangerous incidents in the petrochemical industry. Behavioural safety models provide frameworks that may help to prevent such incidents by identifying factors promoting safe or unsafe behaviour. A literature review was conducted to identify models of safe behaviour and determine which were most consistent with the experiences reported by workers in our qualitative study of the Iranian petrochemical industry. Methods: Five databases (EBSCOhost, Google Scholar, ProQuest, Science Direct, Scopus) were searched for studies between 2000 and 2019 that evaluated antecedents and outcomes of safe workplace behaviours in the petrochemical industry or other industrial settings. Aims Stress, depression and anxiety are the most common disorders in adolescence. Given the positive effect of spirituality on mental health, the aim of present study was to investigate the effect of spirituality-based educational intervention on mental health in female student health ambassadors. Materials & Methods This semi-experimental study was performed on 39 female student health ambassadors of the first high schools in Tehran (18 subjects in the experimental group and 21 subjects in the control group) in 2020, who were selected by multistage cluster sampling method. The research instruments were the Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scales (DASS 21) and the Parsian and Dunning Spirituality Questionnaire. After pre-test in two groups, spir

The worldwide concern about safety has created a need for new and effective strategies to improve safety in the workplace. Based on reported studies, approximately 90% of workplace accidents are due to unsafe behaviour and human error. Therefore, the most important strategy in reducing the rate of these accidents is training workers regarding safe behaviour and avoiding human error. There is limited research on understanding the barriers to promoting safe behaviour amongst petrochemical workers. This paper presents a protocol for an intervention study, using training sessions in combination with an educational software (application). The intervention aims to both promote workers’ safe behaviour and reduce the rate of occupational accident
Adolescent pregnancy is a major health problem significantly associated with adverse effects on the health of both adolescents and their newborns. However, there is a lack of clarity over adolescent pregnancy from adolescents' perspective, particularly in the low- and middle income countries including Iran. This study aimed to explore the experiences of Iranian married female adolescent in confronting pregnancy. This qualitative research was conducted using conventional content analysis approach. Unstructured interviews with 24 female adolescents (aged 14–18 years) were used for data collection, and data analysis was done simultaneously. In this study, the participants were recruited from urban and rural primary healthcare centers (PHCs).

Functional Health Literacy of Adults (TOFHLA), and SF-12 (short form of SF-36) were used to collect the data. For data analysis, SPSS 16 software, descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and regression statistical tests were used. Results: The Findings showed that the average health literacy score was 70.35?18/25, which 25/2%(70 people) had inadequate health literacy, 21.9%
Objective (s): Sexual functioning during pregnancy presents couples with many challenges. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of an educational intervention based on PLISSIT model on sexual satisfaction of pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy. Methods: This was a non-randomized clinical trial. A sample of pregnant nulliparous women who referred to a large general hospital in Tehran was entered into the study. The sexual satisfaction questionnaire (MWSSQ) and a demographic questionnaire were used to collect data. The Data were analyzed by SPSS software using descriptive statistics, independent t-test and chi-square and repeated measures analysis. Results: While there was no significant difference in the mean sex
Aim: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of an educational intervention on appropriate pregnancy weight gain in first-time pregnant women attending Khorram Darreh’s urban health centers in 2019.Method: This was a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental study. The target group consisted of all first-time pregnant women from Khorram Darreh who were covered by its eight urban health centers. Based on the socioeconomic status of the area, the centers were divided into four equal groups. Centers were divided into intervention and control groups using the lottery method. After evaluating the inclusion criteria, the researcher measured the maternal body mass index. The NUTRIKAP questionnaire was used to conduct the pretest on both the in
Aims: A pregnant woman’s nutrition is the main source for fetal development that affects both her and the fetus. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of educational intervention on appropriate pregnancy weight gain in first-time pregnant women.Materials & Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted on 86 first-time pregnant women who attended eight urban health centers in Khorram Darreh, Zanjan, Iran in 2018-2019. The subjects were selected by stratified sampling method and randomly divided into intervention (N= 43) and control (N= 43) groups. Before intervention, maternal body mass index was measured and the NUTRIKAP questionnaire was used on both groups. The education was provided by a trained nutritionist in thr
