History

The Department of Health Education began its journey in 1982, initiating with the enrollment of students for the Masters program. After completing the necessary legal procedures and obtaining permissions from the relevant authorities, the department started accepting students for the PhD program in 1989. Since then, the department has graduated over 200 Masters degree students and 100 PhD students, contributing significantly to the scientific community. The majority of these graduates are now faculty members, with a substantial number managing education and health promotion programs at macro levels

Mission Statement

Health, a divine blessing, has been a focal point of human attention since the dawn of creation. The role of health education is to present effective strategies to preserve and enhance the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of society. This is achieved by leveraging the latest scientific findings and a profound understanding of religious teachings and the rich culture of the Iranian people. The primary strategy of our group is to design, compare, and utilize theories and models in the field of health education, and to develop local theories based on qualitative and quantitative research methods. We aspire to equip our graduates with the necessary skills to undertake educational, research, communicative, supportive, managerial, and consultancy roles.

Group Activities

Our faculty members are fully committed and utilize the expertise of both internal and external specialists in education and research. The group has published over 300 articles in domestic and international journals with credible profiles, released 20 book volumes, and has been instrumental in conducting 70 educational workshops.
