TMU Participation in EURIE 2018 Summit

In order to introduce the university to the outside world, attract more foreign students and expand its academic collaborations, TMU attended the International Higher Education Summit hosted by Eurasian Universities Union in Istanbul (Turkey).

Dr. Mehdi Abedi, a faculty member of TMU, who chaired the university's exhibition stand in that summit said: "EURIE 2018 Summit which aims to promote internalization of Higher Education, was attended by more than two thousand university managers and authorities from 71 countries. 18 universities from Iran were also present in this meeting".

He added that TMU as a member of EURASIA had had an active participation in this exhibition and an attempt was made to provide a thorough introduction of the university to the visitors and make them familiar with its academic potentials. Several dignitaries including Dr. Aideen, the chairman of EURASIA Summit, Malaysian minister of Higher Education, Consulate General of Iran Embassy in Istanbul and the head of Social Affairs Commission of Iran Parliament were among the individuals who visited TMU pavilion.

Dr. Abedi also referred to the various meetings he had held with the representatives of universities from Yemen, Oman, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Pakistan, Germany, Malaysia and India in which the exchange of students and other academic collaborations were discussed. Mutual sessions were also held between Iran and Turkey's higher education authorities to discuss bilateral interests including students' exchange, academic cooperation, holding of workshops and sharing experiences.

It has to be noted that EURIE Summit was held in Feb. 2018 in Istanbul in which 2600 participants from 71 countries shared their experiences with others. This summit witnessed 80 speeches, 150 exhibition stands and 40 forums.
