The Education Department of Tarbiat Modares University was established in 1987.
At the beginning, it offered a graduate program in the field of history and philosophy
of education, and then it offered doctoral degree in philosophy of education and
curriculum development.
One of the main goals of the department of Education has been the training of graduates
who can fulfill the needs of the community for specialized and experienced staff
in the educational and training fields of various organizations, such as ministry
of education and universities. This department is also concerned with conducting
fundamental research on the basic issues of education, including issues related
to curriculum development and philosophy of education in line with the current situation
and the perspectives and challenges faced by educational systems (ministry of education
and higher education system) and directing the students to follow the above mentioned
policies in their theses and dissertations.
