Nanobiotechnology

Department of Nanobiotechnology of the Faculty of Biological Sciences was established in 2007. This department as an intersection of nanotechnology and biology carries out an ambitious research program covering several inter-related research areas including: drug delivery, nanobiosensors, tissue engineering, nanomedicine, micro/nano-fluidic, lab on chip, enzyme and protein engineering.
The faculty of this department is an exceptionally diverse, multidisciplinary team of distinguished professors, young researchers, and student experts uncovering new knowledge and creating innovative technologies at the interface of nanoscience, engineering, and medicine. Its unique research model promotes a collaborative environment that encourages biologists, engineers, scientist, and clinicians to pioneer novel ways to solve some of the most complex challenges in biology and medicine.
The members are combined of research scientists who hold a few local and national prizes in the field of nanobiotechnology such as Razei, Khawrazmi, Allame Tabatabaie prize, and Nano award. The Department of Nanobiotechnology at TMU includes an Associate professor and 3 Assistant professors as core-appointed faculty members, in addition to 6 full professors as cross-appointed faculty members. The number of Alumni and PhD students are presently 50, and 40 respectively, and annually about 10 PhD and MSc. students are admitted to begin their study at this department.
