Significance and Mission

Given the importance of food in human life, the production of agricultural products and the fight against famine and hunger has become a top agenda of world-wide programs and policies. Due to the limits of pastures and overgrazing of livestock in Iran, the production of meat cannot fulfill the protein requirement of the community, therefore, due to the production of a healthier and better meat than red meat, the poultry industry has enjoyed a huge investment in recent years. The increase of chicken and egg price in the market has also contributed to this huge investment in chicken-related industries in recent years. Therefore, it is inevitable to pay more attention to this field and train specialists who can fulfill the ever-increasing demands of this market. In this way, this department is currently admitting students at the two graduate and postgraduate levels in this field in accordance with the guidelines dictated by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

  • Masters program in poultry breeding and management offers a comprehensive study of poultry in the areas of biology, physiology, genetics and breeding, nutrition, management, marketing, diagnosis and control of diseases.
  • Ph.D. program aims at training specialists for educational and research institutes, Ministry of Agriculture, Poultry Industry and other centers related to this field of study.

The graduates of this department can work in educational and research centers / poultry-related industries.
