For the first time in Iran, the project management and construction department started offering master programs at TMU in 1996. The first doctoral program in this field of study was also launched in 2007 in close collaboration with international professors. Therefore, this department a pioneer department in this major in Iran. Project management can be defined as the practice of initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of a team to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria at the specified time. To preserve its national academic position, the department's agenda mainly focuses on: enrolling top and elite students, encouraging teaching staff and students to publish papers in prestigious international and domestic journals / conferences, joining scientific associations, collaborating with other academic centers in and out of Iran, and following an experience-oriented approach in education. Due to the numerous common grounds, this department closely cooperates with other departments such as management, industrial engineering, civil engineering, art and law. Presently, the graduates of all engineering majors can apply for this course. Due to the wide range of projects carried out in Iran, graduates of this major will have the opportunity to find work in construction projects; oil and gas industry; water and energy industry; aerospace industry; technology and innovation; and other engineering administrations to name a few. Also, due to the nature of this field and its relationship with the industry, the professors and graduates of this department can act as a link between the industry and the university.
