    Religious Leadership in “the Movement and Institution”

    Alireza Shojaeizand
    Journal PaperPajouheshnameh Matin , Volume 21 , Issue 85, 2019 December 22, {Pages 99-125 }

    Abstract

    Experts consider religious leadership a referent of charismatic leadership, if it is achieved in the course of a mass movement. Its stability and sustainability are uncertain though, especially when succession and a change of situation are at stake. This is the essence of Max Weber’s classic theories of charismatic authority. The experience of Islamic Revolution, and consequently the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran, have seriously exposed the theory to serious contradictions and challenges and put forth the necessity of fundamental revisions, including the revision of “instability of charismatic relations”. The findings of this paper show that charismatic relations are still stable despite entering into the phase of “i

    Journal PaperCommunity Development (Rural and Urban Communities) , Volume 11 , Issue 1, 2019 May 22, {Pages 24-Jan }

    Abstract

    The purpose of this study is to present a theoretical model of interactions between urban policies and the informal life of the poor in urban space. In this regard, by reviewing and criticizing the theoretical traditions associated with the informal life of the poo, it emphasizes an alternative approach that can transcend the common dualities of formal-informal, structure-agency, and the heroic-troublemaker poor and highlights the spatial dimensions of urban politics regarding the informal life of them. This paper employs documentary method and available archive analysis to present a theoretical model about the dialectical relationship between urban politics and informal life of the poor in Iran. Accordingly, by combining Lefebvre's product

    Journal Paper , Volume 10 , Issue 3700237, 2017 January 1, {Pages 51-72 }

    Abstract

    The present paper is an attempt to empirically study of a typology of religiosity formation trends. Since the objective of the study was to investigate the conceptual capabilities and possibility of measurement of the subject as well as evaluate the identification tools, and there was no intention of generalization of the results to a specific statistical population, quota sampling method was used. Out of eleven paths introduced in the reference article (Shojaeezand, 2012), only measurement of five paths was possible through surrvey and questionnaire and hence this study was limited to those five paths. The five paths were studied from four perspectives among the selected sample: “first encounter with religion”, “development of religi

    Abstract

    Introduction: Validity is the most important feature of a measure and this feature is the only permission for using the result of study. When research is on topics such as religion, the validity will be even more important. Such concepts like religion are complex, invisible and very hard to know. In addition, measuring the religiosity has its own conceptual and methodological requirements that distinguish it from measuring simple and objective concepts. Due to this complexity and invisibility, these issues are more vulnerable to methodological hazards. Therefore should be increase carefully to decrease the probability of error in these studies. Despite this, it seems that most religiosity measurement studies in Iran do not pay enough attent

    Abstract

    With regard to the significance of religion in Iran, diversity and pluralism which have existed in religiosity as a social-humanistic affair itself, and changes that have taken place in quality of religiosity in recent years, this study tries to provide a typology of religiosity among youth in Isfahan city. Types of religiosity challenges the dual context of either being religious or not being religious in this arena. Indeed, this study, accepting the presupposition that religiosity is a varied, diverse and instable issue, tries to investigate most common types of religiosity and their frequency, regardless of its reasons (emergence of different typology of religiosity). Religion and Mundane Affairs: Different Insights of Religions Concerning Mundane

    Alireza Shojaeezand
    Journal PaperJournal of Religious Thought: A Quarterly Journal of Shiraz University , Volume 13 , Issue 46, 2013 May 22, {Pages 85-118 }

    Abstract

    The relation between religion and mundane affairs is one of the favourite problems of theologians and philosophers of religion. But sociologists have not paid sufficient attention to this problem. In this paper we aim to show that despite the reductionistic approaches in study of religion, sociology of religion needs too much attention to the above mentioned problem. We are going to open a primary chapter in sociological study of religion. In addition we aim to reach a more clear understanding of secularization in such a way to be compatible with Islamic teachings and social conditions of Iran. Therefore we first emphasise the importance of mundane affairs from the viewpoints of different religions. Secondly we will compare these viewpoints

    THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CULTURAL GLOBALIZATION AND INDIVIDUAL SECULARIZATION FOCUSING ON THE EFFECT OF CONTEXTUAL VARIABLES

    AR SHOJAEIZAND, MR TALEBAN, SHARGHI N SANATI
    Journal Paper , Volume 1 , Issue 1, 2010 January 1, {Pages 160-133 }

    Abstract

    A review of secularization theories indicates that very little attention has been paid to the impact of increasing global relations on the secularization of the world people. The present paper attempts to examine the relationship between cultural globalization and individual secularization of the world people with regard to contextual variables influencing this relationship. The contextual variables in this study include non-Islamic religious tradition, the development level, ethnic, religious, and linguistic diversities. The results indicated that cultural globalization has a direct and positive relationship with secularization. However, when the effect of variables referring to theories of modernization and religious markets (as the compe

    Abstract

    The present article is an attempt to remove some ambiguities and reject the idea of paradoxicality from the concept of religious intellectuality. The findings of the present study indicate that the approach to paradoxically or non-paradoxicality is effective in facilitation or prohibition of secularization of religion.
