Iran Power System Engineering Research Center (IPSERC)

Iran Power System Engineering Research Center (IPSERC), as an affiliated institute to Tarbiat Modares University (TMU), was founded in 2004, after an M.O.U. was signed by the Minisity of Culture and Higher Education from one side and the Ministry of Energy from the other side. Since then, IPSERC has been conducted more than 75 strategic studies for the Ministry of Energy, Tavanir (the holding company of Iran power industry), IGMC (Iran Grid Management Company) and more than 10 large regional utilities.
IPSERC is involved in various power system studies, such as:

  • Long-term and mid-term expansion planning of transmission, subtransmission and distribution systems
  • Long-term expansion planning of generation systems
  • Demand side management
  • Electricity markets
  • Power system operation
